Taekwon-Do is the Korean art of self defence and the world’s most popular martial art.
It was first developed by a Korean Army General, Choi Hong Hi, in the 1950s and 1960s. “Tae” means to jump or kick with the foot; “Kwon” means to punch with the hand or fist; and “Do” means art or way.
Taekwon-Do is both an exciting sport and a martial art suitable for all ages and abilities. At Van Roon Martial Arts, classes are customised for children and adults and specifically tailored to your learning needs, whether you are just beginning in the martial arts or a seasoned blackbelt.
Van Roon Martial Arts is a member club of ‘International Taekwon-Do’ New Zealand, which unites over 100 clubs nation wide and offers a great number of benefits to it’s members including local and International seminars, tournaments and more.
